About CATHY RAND
Musical Director and Arranger Cathy Rand
has had a diverse musical career. Her music direction, conducting,
and orchestration credits include work for the Eugene O'Neill Theater
Center, En Garde Arts, the Huntington Theatre Company, Merrimack
Repertory Theatre, Musical Theater Works and the North Shore Music
Theater. She has worked in association with William D. Brohn, Sheldon
Harnick, Henry Krieger, Galt MacDermot, John Morris, Jonathan Tunick
and Thomas Z. Shepard.
Ms. Rand works extensively as a soloist,
collaborative pianist, and vocal coach, maintaining private studios
both in New York and Boston, where she is on the faculty of the
Boston Conservatory.
Ms. Rand is also a lyricist and published
arranger.
Ms. Rand is particularly pleased to be part
of this program. Her grandfather worked for the company that owned
the theater in Berlin where the Brecht/Weill shows premiered.
