Mr. Murphy's performance might be best described as a synthesis
of the European clown and the classic American physical comedian.
It is an impetuous journey into the world of MURPH, a selfless,
self-conscious, guilt-ridden, Catholic, solo entertainer of the
90's. He will entertain you, he must entertain you...at any
cost! It is up front, honest to goodness, in your face and at the
same time sensitive physical comedy! His formal training in Physical
Education and Ballet spawned a unique style of theater that is at
once an ardent athletic event and a sensitive outpouring of newly
discovered emotions. His performance is essentially slapstick and
yet somehow the critic's reoccuring choices of descriptive words
are: tender, charm, heart, warmth, and compassion. Murph uses a
variety of disciplines to tell his story including a quirky acting
style, acrobatics, dance, and various circus arts. Critics have
dubbed him "The Chaos Poet."
"Mr. Murphy is a funny and talented star...a surefire cure for
the blahs."
-New York Times
"Sensational!...a superb artist and crazy acrobat. His clowning
was a joy to behold and care about."
