"Skylark" . . . Andrea Marcovicci celebrates Johnny Mercer.
Originally commissioned by the Savannah Music Festival, conceived written and performed by the one and only queen of cabaret, the legendary Andrea Marcovicci.
One of America’s finest lyricists, multiple oscar winner Johnny Mercer collaborated with our best composers including Hoagy Carmichael, Harold Arlen, Harry Warren, Richard Whiting, and Henry Mancini creating hits for Sinatra, Garland, Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire. Marcovicci illuminates the man behind the music and uncovers the giddy, pensive, heartbreaking and impish lyrics crafted by Mercer. Highlights include: Ac-Cent-Tchu-Ate the Positive, Dream, That Old Black Magic, Autumn Leaves, One for My Baby (and One More for the Road), Too Marvelous for Words, and Moon River.
