KAREN OBERLIN, hailed by the New York Times as one of the "Saviors of the Great American Songbook," has been the recipient of the Back Stage Bistro Award, multiple MAC Awards and the 2011 New York Nightlife Award for Outstanding Jazz Vocalist of the Year. Karen Oberlin received rave reviews for her three-week engagement in 2011 at the legendary New York Oak Room at the Algonquin Hotel, followed by another rave for her weeklong engagement at Feinstein's at the Regency Hotel in 2012. In the New York Times, Stephen Holden wrote: "Beyond having a lovely voice, poise and interpretive insight... Ms. Oberlin has impeccable style and musical intelligence.” Rex Reed, in the New York Observer, called her recent performance “Thrilling.” Along with the Algonquin and Feinstein's, she has appeared at major New York venues such as Jazz at Lincoln Center, The Town Hall, Iridium Jazz Club, Kitano, Merkin Hall and The Metropolitan Room, among others. Globally, she has headlined at such venues as Caramoor Center for the Arts in Westchester, The Ordway Theatre in St. Paul, The Prince Theatre in Philadelphia, Brownville Concert Hall in Nebraska, the Royal Room at the Colony Palm Beach and the Crazy Coqs in London, among many others. Oberlin, who appeared in an opera at the age of six and hasn't stopped singing since, appeared in the hit Off-Broadway show OUR SINATRA over 100 times along with many other theatrical, film and television credits, including performing in the first staged version of the now-legendary Broadway show RENT and playing a recurring nurse on the American soap opera "All My Children."
