Lorene Yarnell
began studying dance when she was four years old. After winning
numerous contests, she won The Tower Champion Scholarship at the
age of ten. By 15, she was established in a career that would present
her on over 800 major television variety shows and specials, telecast
both here and abroad, appearing with Danny Kaye, Sonny & Cher,
Red Skelton, Carol Burnett, Johnny Carson and Lucille Ball, among
others.
She has headlined the most prestigious hotels
and resorts from coast-to-coast where her performances garnered
her Las Vegas's "Best Entertainer of the Year" award two years in
a row.
From 1972-1986, she joined with Robert Shields
to form the award-winning internationally renowned team of Shields
& Yarnell and has recently resumed the partnership.
International concert engagements have taken
her to England, France, Australia, China, Mexico, India, Japan,
Germany, Korea, Spain, Norway and South America.
Her eventual crossover into acting brought
with it lead parts in the West Coast productions of Can Can,
George M. Your Own Thing, Damn Yankees and Anything Goes
with Chita Rivera.
On Broadway, she starred in Broadway Follies
with Robert Shields.
Her film and television work includes Sweet
Charity, Spaceballs, and the award-winning HBO production
"Clown White".
